Why CarPlay is getting more popular and why such update become so viral?
CarPlay was out of the picture after its debut in 2014. As the other in-car system has improved far better than what Apple has.
So, this sudden updating decision looks like a large step in the right direction for in-car development system for Apple.
The biggest upgrade in this new version is that the home screen can display a number of things like:
- Media Playback
- HomeKit – Garage doors or lights
Apple has announced that you can see the update in design and functional overhaul for CarPlay.
Introducing a better interface, multi-tasking capabilities and a smarter integration with Siri.
The major change is the updated CarPlay interface, which has the facility to host more content and show multiple apps in a single view.
Examples like the updated screen or dashboard will show the navigation screen and media playback interface simultaneously side by side.
With the new version of iOS 13, there will be advanced features including,
- Displaying information such as album art, music recommendation, etc.
- Important data like upcoming events from the calendar with just single voice command.
This all will be happening without unlocking users iPhone.
Hey Siri! This feature has been also updated in this system, it keeps working on the ongoing screen while Siri accepts commands in the background after being called.
Not only this it has the feature of location-based automation. For example, it can trigger the garage shutter or doors to be open automatically as soon as a vehicle is detected near home.
It has also supported “Do not Disturb” while driving mode is on. This will block the notifications while driving to keep distractions away.
Moreover, CarPlay will come up with the more advanced features and let automakers develop a compatible system which will dynamically adjust the screen size. Helping users to interact with technology more closely and easy to use.
