The major breakthrough in Instagram to be implemented in the coming in some of the countries.

The update is  ” No one will be able to see the Instagram Likes “.

“We will make decisions that hurt the business if they help people’s well-being and health,” says Instagram’s  CEO Adam Mosseri.

Even this statement as a business behind it, Facebook is continuously hitting with the Privacy laws and other problems.

Rolling out the new privacy update won’t really make much difference in the system and privacy concerns.

The new update will roll out in the coming week

To the update, Instagram will start testing out the hiding like counts from everyone and users will also don’t have options to opt it out as of now.

Similar to YouTube, Instagram must give the option to hide like but not mandatory. However, they have initially made it in a single way to test out the new update. Later on, they will provide you the option to opt-out of the likes.

Effects of this

First, it stands on the brainstorm of the influencer. It’s been a continuous practice of deciding the quality and reputation of the product or creator based on the likes.

If likes are hidden, it may affect the influencers badly. It can also affect influencer in terms of third-party promotions as advertisers cannot exactly determine the exact engagement rate of the creator’s content.

Having thousands of followers cannot exactly determine the exact engagement rate as it is observed many accounts don’t match followers and the engagement rate.

CEO’s intention behind this update

Instagram’s CEO explained that “The idea is to try to depressurize Instagram, make it less of a competition, and give people more space to focus on connect ing with the people they love and things that inspire them.”

The intention is to reduce anxiety and social pressure.

Instagram disabled your follower’s activity

Not only this, Instagram now disabled the separate tab of ” followers ” where you can see your follower’s activity like their comments, likes, etc.

Instagram is really making efforts to peak their privacy and they have implemented those updates as well.
