Ola now ranks third most downloaded taxi-sharing application


A complete structured and organized taxi business named Ola had changed the whole scenario of easy traveling.

Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati founded Ola cabs in 2010 which reserved its position in the third rank on a list of top-ride sharing and taxi apps in Android across the world.

It also ranks,  fourth-most downloaded ride-sharing app worldwide as per the app research firm, Sensor Tower’s data for October 2019.

The ranking slightly slipped due to lesser iOS downloads. In comparison, Uber ranked the App Store and Play Store for the most installs on Google Play.

Ola Services spread

Ola at present offering services around 250 cities across India and it is offering services in about 20 cities internationally that go to Nine in Australia, Seven in UK and three in New Zealand.

To expand operations internationally, the firm invested more than $60 million to bring Ola service in other cities as well.

Even Ola has a plan to expand to the US Market as well, but at present, they are showing a more keen interest in the European Market.

Along with this, Ola also stepped into the cloud kitchen business and also into the Electric Vehicle Entity.

They are also testing out the Self-drive segment with the Ola -Drive.

Ola bookings and trips are profitable and looking sustainably good in the coming months and they can bring out their IPO in the coming 18 to 24 months.

Comparison with Uber

Uber has a wide-range of the market in other countries rather than in India. It gets more than 50% bookings Internationally.

India and Brazil contributed 15% and 19% of the uber downloads. Uber has its operations in more than 60 countries and 400 cities.

Grab Application has more than 3.5 million downloads and it tops the market in Indonesia with close to 38%.

Among the other ride-sharing application, the global rankings were Grab, 99, DiDi, Gojek, BlaBlaCar, Lyft, and Yandex.

Rewards for Riders

At the felicitation ceremony in Mumbai, Ola noticed the high-rated drivers and actively performing drivers need to be awarded.

So, Ola had gifted gold vouchers worth Rs 5000 to the best performing drivers.

The rewards are given on the basis of performance, least cancellation and high-ratings.
